1987 Toyota Tercel SR5 4WD - Super Rare! - $2100 (Missoula)
This great little Toyota Tercel SR5 wagon has a TON of character. It has a the Toyota 3A-C 1.5L SOHC 4 cylinder engine, 6 speed manual transmission (That’s not a typo), and manual shift FWD or 4WD options, with 192k miles. The transmission has a rare Extra Low (EL) gear that only works in 4WD to get you out when you’re stuck or to creep up a steep mountain road. Recent work includes new platinum spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, ignition rotor, fuel filter, air filter, front brake pads, a fresh oil change, a newer radiator, a newer starter, new thermostat and water housing and the carburetor was just cleaned. It runs great and can go ANYWHERE you want to go. The body is in pretty good shape for it’s age (only surface rust on the hood and a few doors). Very clean inside and out. Tons of room inside the back (the rear seats will fold down for even more) and there’s a roof rack for your skis, canoe, etc. The power sunroof works great and more than makes up for no AC. If you’re looking for something other than a Subaru, this is it! It also comes with a full factory service manual, so you can do any maintenance yourself and save money. Asking $2100 OBO. AS IS. Thanks for looking.

They are a pretty neat little car but “super rare”? I think not.

Super rare because most of them have rusted away...

There is a good possibility
I hated this exact car, but it is not the same one. Justin Grant
had a gold tercel, not silver.

As
if
the 1.5 is not feeble enough
imagine your buddy driving who shifts at 2,200 rpm and you are driving 140 miles.... over hills, with gear in the car.... woohoo we hit 47 mph....

Try to find another one with the low gear.

Depends. My first Tercel could climb any hill in 3rd -- okay, sometimes 2nd. It had been taken care of. My other two... Couldn’t hit 80 going downhill.
